Concerns at the Airport

The responsibilitiy of managing the Canandaigua Airport is distributed between several parties including the Ontario County IDA, Canandaigua Air Center and individuals. Here’s how things are broken down.

Ontario County Industrial Development Agency (IDA) owns the property, land, runway, taxiway and ramps. John Hicks works with Canandaigua Air Center in running the airport and reports to the IDA Board.

Canandaigua Air Center (CAC) owns the FBO and the Fuel Farm. Canandaigua Air Center has the contract with the IDA to provide FBO services at the airport.

T Hangars are owned by two individuals and one of the individuals manages all three of the units.

Please report other concerns (confidentially) by emailing d38@ows.net – we will work together toward reporting these to the county for correction.

Do Your Part…

We did our part by creating this site, now we ask you to do your part to support the airport by doing one or more of the following:

  • Talk to the public about being a pilot, bring them “past the fence” and show them around.
  • Ask if they fly or have wanted to learn…if so, consider contacting a CFI or take them flying.
  • Reinforce the idea that general aviation is accessible, fun, educational and within reach.
  • Educate the public regarding all the aspects of GA: charitable flying, business flying, law enforcement, fire and rescue, recreational flying, pilot education.

  1. This isn’t related to the topic sorry, but does this airport have first time flights (discovery flights) for first time flyers, if so what is the price?

    • Hi Anthony,
