Welcome to the Pilot’s Lounge…
This is your page and we hope you use it to post information about events, concerns or other information at the airport.
Current Events 2012:
NONE listed at this time. If you have a hanger event to post here please email the details to: d38@ows.net
Current Concerns at the Airport:
- Lack of a Self-Service fueling facility due to broken equipment and concerns about bees nesting in the fuel pump in the warmer months.
- Smoking in the FBO building (a county owned facility). The county prohibits tobacco use on county-owned and leased property, including within county-owned vehicles and within 100 feet of playgrounds and structures in county parks.
- The use of county equipment to create obstacles on the airport grounds (a county owned facility) for use by ATV’s creating a hazard to pilots and disrupting drainage near the end of runway 31.
- “Hanger Available Sign” is showing a disconnected (1-800-945-9448) phone number and should be removed.
Please report other concerns (confidentially) by emailing d38@ows.net - we will work together toward reporting these to the county for correction.
Do Your Part…
We did our part by creating this site, now we ask you to do your part to support the airport by doing one or more of the following:
- Talk to the public about being a pilot, bring them “past the fence” and show them around.
- Ask if they fly or have wanted to learn…if so, consider contacting a CFI or take them flying.
- Reinforce the idea that general aviation is accessible, fun, educational and within reach.
- Educate the public regarding all the aspects of GA: charitable flying, business flying, law enforcement, fire and rescue, recreational flying, pilot education.

Barry…
You have said in a couple of places that the runway is going to be expanded to 4400 feet, but the link to the town board presentation says that it will be 5500 feet. I originally heard 5500 my self, has it changed?
Me and my Long EZ would sure prefer the longer!
BTW…nice job with this website…keeps just getting better!

Hi Harley,
I believe all of those references were changed to read 5,500 ft.
If you see one, please send me the link to the page and we will correct that.
Thank you for the support and be sure to have other pilots check in here as well!

Barry…
The first one I saw was in the Airport updates section…referencing the construction trailer photo. I see that’s corrected now. Guess I should have checked there before I sent the above reminder! The only other one I see is in your reply to Michael on this page, but I guess we’ve taken care of that with this thread.
BTW, someone’s clock is wrong…the time stamp on these messages seems to be off by about 5 hours!
Harley
Harley,
Fixed the last 4,400 reference. Posts should be our time zone now as it wasn’t specified previously.

I was once a member of the Canandaigua flying club way back in 1999. I left and went to Williamson-Sodus because the monthly dues got too expensive. Does anyone know why the club went under? I’m sure there are a thousand different explanations.
Also, Does anyone know the status of the runway being extended?
The airport is poised to grow with a planned runway expansion to 5,500 feet, expected to be completed in 2012.
This isn’t related to the topic sorry, but does this airport have first time flights (discovery flights) for first time flyers, if so what is the price?
